NYC Chinatown Dumpling Tour

Here's what's going to happen

Got Dumpling?  That is the question we are going to answer definitively on our most awesome NYC Chinatown Dumpling Tour.  Come join us as we hit eight epic houses of dumpling and feast on offerings representing the breadth and depth of Chinese dumpling cuisine.

So what does your $25 get you?  It gets you DUMPLINGS and a lot of them, so you do not have to fumble around for dollar bills to buy them yourself during the tour (though you are certainly free to buy more food if wish).  For more details, check out my blog and make sure to follow the #NYCDumpling hashtag on Twitter or my personal Twitter account @marksbirch for the latest updates.

Tasty way to spend the afternoon. Mark introduces you to tastes from different parts of China and goes into a bit of history too. This guy loves and knows his dumplings!

Marks Tour hat riesig Spass gemacht: lecker Essen, nette Leute, tolle Infos - eine super Insider-Fuehrung fuer alle NY Reisenden, die auf chinesische "Maultaschen" stehen. Sogar unser Fuenfjaehriger fand's grossartig. Highly recommended!
PS: Mark kommt uebrigens ohne Helm ;-)

Mark leads great dumpling tours -- mouthwatering dumplings, tales of the area's history and culture, and a whole lot of hanging out and having a good time! Not to be missed!

Awesome all around. Great company. The best tasting dumplings I've ever had. Mark has great insights about China-Town and Chinese culture which he shares as you go from stop to stop. Tip: Save room for the last stops of the tour. ;)

"Tasty Dumplings!" That was the name of the first shop on the tour and turned out to be the promise for all 8. Good time. Great peeps. Will definitely do it again. Too bad we couldn't fit in a 9th: Nom Wah. Perhaps next time. Oh, and perhaps a beverage or 2 togo with our solo cups!

Totally killer. Good food, good company. What more can you ask for?

Sesame pancake from Vanessa's was amazing, and the 2nd stop -- fried dumpling -- was my favorite. Definitely up for another dumpling day!

Super tasty dumplings, great stories by Mark and the people you will meet on the NYC Dumpling Tour are awesome.

    Two words: Pork & Chive.

This was a surprisingly awesome after-work activity and a true culinary treat enjoyed by a great mix of people. Mark's tours through Chinatown have a pretty big following and it's no wonder: the man knows his dumplings!

Tip: Because of the large size of the group, you do tend to spend the entire three hours eating outside the small dumpling shops, so dress accordingly if it's cold out.

The highlight of my short visit to NY. The dumplings, people and conversations were great.

There were a lot of people, but Mark dealt with the situation well. He sent people to the upcoming stops to pre-order for us.

Don't eat too much at each stop and be prepared to walk a bit.

Cool experience. A nice exploration of Chinatown. Energy is good. Nice crowd. Host is great and energetic. And a serious overload of dumplings. Stick to a dumpling per place if you want to survive this tour :)

  • Ryan D. says:

Tour was well-organized, dumplings were super-tasty, and I think we all found new favorites.

  • Colin B. says:

I was disappointed. The tour was disorganized and not very informative. At one point, we stood outside for 25 minutes waiting for dumplings, only to shovel them down as fast as we could and walk a few blocks to the next place. There was some attempt to educate us about Chinatown but it fell short.

I'd recommend the host spend more time teaching about dumplings and the locations travelled, and organize the schedule more. After 2.5 hours of walking around and eating dumplings out of hand, we had been to only half the places and I left.

  • Floris D. says:

Best dumplings I've ever had! It was also very nice to walk around chinatown and see the neighborhood from a different perspective. Mark answered all our questions and was very knowledgable about the history of chinatown and also pointed out some great places to eat for another time. The group was big but in the end there were more then enough dumplings for everyone to enjoy.
