Here's what's going to happen

We regularly analyse the quality of the river Spree at Berlin-Friedrichshain in cooperation with school classes from Berlin. In order to reach also other persons we open our floating laboratory on weekends for normal visitors and tourists. We focuse on the river´s chemical, physical and microbiological aspects. Come and have a look at our water laboratory in the research vessel at the famous Oberbaum Brücke near Universal Headquarters, Watergate Club etc.

We receive small groups of not more than 8 persons - we especially receive families with children (for bigger groups on weekends we can make special arrangements). Everyone taking part in our research will take home his tripartitite findings covering the plancton in the river Spree, a chemical analysis of the water and some physical data. We also can analyse the water you have brought from your own country in order to compare it with the Spree water. You will get lots of information about the water management in Berlin, about possible risks when swimming in the rivers and many lakes surrounding the city of Berlin. You will understand why you dont have to buy water in bottles when you stay in Berlin ....

From spring onwards we offer small excursions with our engine-powered dinghi which will take us on the river Spree through the Oberbaumbridge along the famous Badeschiff, Arena, Labels, Fernsehwerft, Universal Music etc.

Our water analysis ist offerend also in German, English, French, Spanisch and Italian.

    I had a great time learning about the Spree river , water and Berlin with Uwe. We had the opportunities to become scientific for a day, through getting sample from the water, using tools to study the water and even get into a cozy and curious lab on board!!. I strongly recommend anyone to have this experience, is another interesting option to know more about Berlin and the water.

    Uwe will welcome you into an old Russian boat which he turned into a beautiful laboratory to research the Spree river. We studied the river in all kinds of ways to learn more about the river and to see how clean it is. While waiting for some of the results Uwe will tell you all kinds of great stories about water and the history of the river. After the testing we used the microscopes to get a closer look into the lives of all the little creatures that live in the Spree river.

    Highly recommend for families and anyone with a curious mind!

    If you are in Berlin, you will know the Spree. Uwe will tell you all about it's history, the 'now' and the future of this 400 kilometer river that flows right through the city.

    If you're in Berlin for a weekend or have been living in Berlin all of your life, it doesn't matter. Uwe's knowledge and enthusiasm is amazing and you'll be sure to look at the Spree in a different way after visiting his boat.

    Make sure to ask Uwe about the other activities that he is organizing on his boat. Highly recommended for anyone interested in the Spree - young or old.
